| Argentina has acknowledged the production of SW as an industrial activity, which has helped enact the Law on the Promotion of the SW Industry. This law gave additionally a boost to national development activity and support services for Information Technology. |

| The Information Technology industry is supported through various agencies and programs. The Argentine Technology Fund (FONTAR), Fund for Scientific and Technological Research (FONCyT) and the Trust Fund for the Promotion of Software Industry (FONSOFT) give continuous support within the frame of a national policy for the Information Services Industry Development. |

| The Argentine state is an active supporter of the formation of new professionals in the IT sector. Several initiatives are contributing to that objective: for example, the plan "Scholarships Control F" which will provide scholarships to 11,000 information technology students in 2009. |
